Welcome to our Campsite:
Budemeadows, Bude, Cornwall
Budemeadows is an all year round touring park and we welcome all visitors with
their own tent, caravan or motorhome.
We aim to
ensure that all visitors can enjoy the facilities and surroundings that
Budemeadows offers. We would find it helpful if specific requirements were
mentioned at the time of booking e.g. if you need to be near facilities, we can
then try our best to accommodate your wishes. If you require any assistance
during your stay or whilst planning your holiday, please ask and we will be
happy to help.
This access
statement gives details of all the facilities available at the campsite and
provides details of the access to key areas for disabled and wheelchair users.
Assistance dogs are welcome on the Park.
Our
current facilities and services offered are:
Pre-Arrival
- We
cater for tents, caravans and motorhomes
- Our
website is intended to be accessible to all. Images and links are described
by text and we are working to ensure full WCAG compliance.
- Our

- We can
take all bookings and enquiries about the campsite via the telephone or by post with a booking
form
Arrivals, Car Parking and Main Reception
- Arrivals
are requested to stop at the New Arrivals barrier and proceed to reception on
foot. Access to reception is level and approximately 20 meters from the
New Arrivals barrier.
- Seats
are available outside the reception building.
- There is a disabled
parking space for a car situated outside reception. This is intended for
guests using the disabled shower/toilet facility nearby or the bar/shop.
- Other than this
parking area there are no designated parking places on site. Al guests must
park cars within the boundaries of their allocated pitch.
- The
narrowest doorway to the reception and visitor information area is 76 cm wide.
- A lowered counter
is available at the reception desk.
Public
Areas – General (Internal)
- The shop, bar and
take-away are located adjacent to reception and a small parking bay (with a
disabled parking bay) is available opposite.

A tarmac road services all
parts of the campsite. The speed limit on site is 5 mph.

The park is
situated on 2 gently sloping fields.
Public
Areas – Toilets and Shower Facilities
- The
campsite has toilet and shower facilities located in each field and a separate
toilet and shower for disabled use is available in both. For further
information please refer to Touring Facilities section.
Takeaway and Bar
- A
takeaway facility is available on site but is only open during the high
season. A high counter (125cm above ground) is present, but the chef will
collect orders from the front of the takeaway if required, and food can be
delivered to the front of the takeaway or direct to tables if required.
- The bar
is accessed via a 125cm wide doorway with a small step (3cm) internally.
- An
internal games room with computer for internet access is accessed through the
bar via a 76cm wide doorway and small slope.

Laundry
- Two
laundry facilities are available on site. Car parking (with a disabled bay)
is available close to the front of the laundry facility in the upper field.
Shop
- The
Park has a small shop which provides a range of basic groceries and hardware,
camping equipment and calor/camping gas.
- Access
to the shop is via a gentle slope and doorway measuring 74cm.
Leisure
Facilities
- The
campsite has a heated outdoor pool and access to the pool area is via a latched
gate. Access into the pool is either via shallow access steps located in the
shallow end of the pool, or via a ladder style set of steps in to the deep end
of the pool. The pool has a maximum depth of 1.5 metrer and a minimum depth
of 1 metre. The pool is unsupervised and any person under 15 years of age
must be under the supervision of a person 18 years or over.
- The
Park has two grassed play areas for children. No hard standing is available
in these areas. None of the current equipment is specifically designed for
disabled access. Bench seating is available in this area.
- There
is also an outside grassed games area – including table tennis, giant chess
and Connect 4 and skittles. Bench seating is available in this area.
- An
indoors games room (pool, table football and a small number of games machines)
and TV is available for guests use. The TV does not have teletext and does
not have a facility for sub-titles.

Touring
Facilities
- We have
145 pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, 23 of these pitches are
considered all weather pitches and have hard standing on approximately one
third of the pitch and an under-battened grassed area to one third with the
remainder being grass.
- There
are 2 toilet blocks on the campsite and a separate disabled facility . The block in the main touring field is open all
year and is split over two buildings – one for ladies and one for gents with
additional overflow unisex showers to the outside of the ladies block . There
are washing up sinks to the rear of the gents block and a laundry and full
bathroom to the front of the building.
- The
ladies toilets in the main camping field have 4 standard toilet cubicles, and 6
combined washbasin and toilet cubicles. Additionally there are 2 free showers
and 2 free to use hairdryers. The auxiliary toilet block in the lower field
has 3 combined washbasin and toilet cubicles and 3 showers for ladies, plus 1
free to use hairdryer.
- The
gent’s toilets in the main camping field have 4 standard toilet cubicles, 1 combined
washbasin and toilet cubicle, and 2 urinals. There are 2 free showers and 1
free to use hairdryer. The auxiliary toilet block in the lower field 2
urinals, 2 combined washroom and toilets and 2 showers for men
- A
bathroom is available for all guests use with a full sized bath, sink and
toilet.
- The
Park has 2 disabled toilet facilities, one located at each toilet block. The
facilities both comprise of a shower, toilet and sink.

Assistance in siting caravans on arrival is always available.
- Water
points, fire points, and refuse bins are located at intervals throughout the
site and 2 chemical disposal points are available.
- Pitches
are allocated on booking. Specific pitches can be requested (a small charge
is payable) and the owners are happy to advise on the location and suitability
for your requirements on enquiry.

Campsite Grounds
- The
site is lit at night, but guests are advised this is low level lighting and
the use of a torch may be required. All facilities e.g. toilets are well lit
on their approach and internally.
- Seating
is available outside of the reception area.
Additional Information
- Mobile phone coverage is
moderate to good in this area and a public pay telephone is available.

There is a local
bus service that picks up directly outside of the campsite serving Bude and the
surrounding areas. Further details and timetables are available from reception.

Post may be left
in reception and is collected by the post office Monday – Saturday.
- Local taxis call
at the Park. Taxis numbers are available from the Information Centre or
reception.
- Wheelchairs and
Mobility scooters are available for hire on a daily or weekly basis from
Launceston Mobility (01566 774030). A collection and delivery service is
available (charges apply).
